Ukraine is a country in the fifth stage of the demographic transition model. This is clearly obvious because the natural rate of increase is negative. That means that there are more deaths than births annually. The only stage in the entire model that has a natural rate of increase like that is stage five. Additionally, the most recent year in the population pyramids depicted is 2010, which nearly mimics the example picture in stage five.

The two compared axes in this graph were babies per woman and infant mortality rate. For many years in Ukraine there wan no change in the mortality rate, just fewer babies were born per woman. That trend barely ever changed, excluding within the last year or two. However with medical developments the infant mortality rate has significantly fallen.

Last updated in 2016
Ukrainian culture is similar to a lot of European culture even though it is not fully developed. Ukraine has cycled through many religions from orthodox and catholic Christianity to Judaism. This is partially due to the persecution of Jews in the 40's. However, when it comes to gender equality Ukraine lacks. Women have few roles in government or management. Ukraine uses all forms of literature, such as written, graphical, and performance. This is partially credited to the former soviet union, who treasured arts, even though they may have been heavily influenced by the government.

Title: Peace at Last in Ukraine?
Author: David Marples
Published: September 20, 2015
Link: https://ukraineanalysis.wordpress.com/2015/09/20/peace-at-last-in-ukraine-analyzing-russian-goals/
Article Analysis: The linked article talks about violent forces having to leave Ukraine and go to the Russian Federation leaving Ukraine in a momentary peace time. However, the population is unsure if peacetime will stay. Because of this the article goes into the possibility of peace remaining but also warning that peace may not stay and to be prepared if it does not. This is a necessary thing to do in politics, to keep the public informed even if it may be something they do not want to hear. Something they may not want to hear is that peace may not stay.
